Moderating a session with the CIOs of Canada’s leading airports

Great session with the CIOs of Canada’s largest airports

Moderated a session with the Chief Information Officers of the airport’s of Toronto, Montreal, and Edmonton where we discussed how airports  need to rethink their future given that it will take 2-3 years to recover? How can we collaborate more effectively using technology and harmonise our standards to enable a swifter recovery while ensuring data privacy?

Blockchain’s various applications in aviation

Innovation in aviation using blockchain

I discussed from a research standpoint the baggage journey in aviation leveraging Blockchain, from the point of induction, to security and sortation, to loading the bag into the aircraft at departure and arrival. – Can the airports keep the passenger informed of where and when their bag is at any given time using Blockchain? – Can Blockchain help reduce the incidence of lost bags by keeping better track of the baggage? – Can we free up the passenger wait times at baggage arrival carousels and turn it into an opportunity to visit the inbound duty free shops using information made available through Blockchain?

Provided a lecture on optimal utilization of airport data, London, UK, December 2019

Offered insights on leveraging data with other airport leaders in London, UK

It was my pleasure to provide a lecture in London, UK with other aviation peers from all over the world on insights into how to better capitalize on data and increase revenue by better understanding consumer spending behaviours, optimizing passenger flow, and leveraging the power of analytics to forecast potential trouble points

Operational Excellence Week, Toronto – October 2019

Sharing the latest on how Toronto Pearson Airport is leveraging the power of data to achieve operational efficiency

In the age of digital transformation, organizations find themselves with copious amounts of data that often isn’t used to its’ full potential. I presented on this topic how Pearson Airport is properly
leveraging data and creating efficiencies in operations. This included how the airport successfully:
• Created a unified view of the organization and its data
• Effectively using data for predictive and preventative maintenance
• Data as a facilitator for decisions

Data to Decisions Summit, San Francisco – September 2019

Presentation on the transformation of an airport into a smart airport at the Wipro Data to Decisions Summit in San Francisco

Had an opportunity to present a case study to showcase the collective work Toronto Pearson Airport has achieved with Wipro. I also had an opportunity to visit Wipro’s Silicon Valley innovation centre and see the latest innovations in analytics and AI
